Hi, everybody! Today I’m going to reveal the cover of my upcoming debut novel From the Ashes!
But first, I want to tell you a little bit about the book.
I started From the Ashes during NaNoWriMo in 2017. I spent Tuesday and Thursday nights at the local bookstore, doing word sprints. (I even won some of them!) I finished the first draft at the end of November with very little time to spare, and then set about editing it.
The book was my first attempt writing a queer romance, and I’m so happy about how it turned out. Queer romance is the genre I’ve always dreamed of writing, and I’m so excited to break onto the scene with this novel!
So as promised, here’s the cover!
The cover was designed by James at GoOnWrite.com, and I think it really captures the roadtrip feel of the book. In particular, I imagine the cover taking place during a pretty pivotal scene in the novel. In case you’re curious, that’s Hunter on the left with the sunglasses and Derek on the right.
Here’s the blurb:
Hunter and Derek are at a fork in the road...
At their friend Justin's funeral, once-best-friends Derek and Hunter meet again almost four years after their monumental falling out. Hunter kissed Derek, and Derek freaked out and chose a college on the other side of the country.
If they had a choice, both of them would walk away and never see the other again. Except Justin has given them a mission: an epic road trip to scatter his ashes all over the Midwest, complete with cryptic notes, new friends, and a whole lot of sexual tension. Can Derek and Hunter finish Justin's road trip without ripping each other's heads—or clothes—off?
From the Ashes releases on October 9th, and will be available for preorder soon!
Right now, you can add the book to your To Read shelf on Goodreads.
